I am the Title I Math teacher in our small school. We are a low income school and many of my students haven't had the chance to practice math facts because of no access to the internet at home. There are many divorced families at my school so the students are bounced around from house to house.
My students are below basic on math skills so they come with me for extra help.
Being able to use Versa-tiles would be an extra boost in their work. The kids would be making designs while learning and not realize they are improving their skills
Our school is a low income, rural school. We have about 80% free and reduced lunches.
Being a teacher in a low-income school, we do not always get extra money to spend on manipulatives for our classrooms. Having the VersaTiles and workbooks donated would be a huge help in my room.
My Project
Versa-tiles are an engaging puzzle made for a fun challenge to practice math skills. The student has the captivating challenge of a puzzle with the purposeful practice of an activity book to learn and practice math. The books cover skills needed to pass the grade they are in and gives extra practice for MAP testing. Student in first grade have trouble with the 10 more lesson. Using the Versa-tiles they will practice while having fun.
The Small-Group Kits are uniquely designed to reinforce skill with specific activities allowing me to differentiate my classroom instruction.
I can assign each student a different skill to practice while in my room.
This will be used as a supplement activity in my room. For example, the second graders I service are low on adding 2-digit numbers, so I will use several pages in the included workbook for extra practice.
