Versatiles Reading Set
My students need some fun, hands-on educational reading tools to help work on skills they have difficulties meeting grade level in.
Did you ever have the opportunity to play and learn with Versatiles as a young child? My students have not yet discovered how fun Versatiles are!
I teach in a suburban public school in NC with a wide range of ethnic groups and socio economic backgrounds.
Some of our students come from households where they do not have a lot of money and from households where English is not the primary language spoken. Therefore, based on their background, some students are having difficulties meeting grade level in the area of English language arts.
When teaching my kids in school, some have not experienced much outside of their small town and don't have a lot of real world background knowledge.
These resources will be used for students who are not meeting grade level due to a variety of reasons, many of them are ESL (English as a second language) students who have difficulties reading and understanding the English language and what is required of them in school.
They will be able to use these resources to practice skills they have not yet mastered in small group and individual settings.
These resources will make a difference in my students lives by allowing them time to "play" and create puzzles, but yet still teach them very important English language arts skills.
Students learn differently in school and many love hands on learning.
