Help me give my students a fun way to practice Math skills with VersaTiles. These independent activities are self-checking and fun to play with a partner, encouraging helping and learning from each other!
I teach 4th grade in a suburb of North Carolina. My students are bright, eager to learn, and full of hopes and dreams. They come from a variety of backgrounds and work together in pairs, small groups, and individually to show mastery in math and science. This is my 26th year as an educator and I hope to provide this group with experiences they will forever remember!
I want this group of students to have all the necessary tools to apply their skills to higher level thinking and problem solving, while using 21st century skills and accessing a variety of educational resources- while loving their environment.
Students will work individually, with partners, and in small groups as they apply these skills.
My Project
Hand2mind VersaTiles are aligned to state standards and allow students to have an alternative to traditional practice skills practice. These tile activities cover number and operations: multiply and divide, multiply and divide: problem solving, fractions: fractions as numbers, measurement and data: use and interpret data, geometric measurement: perimeter and area, and geometry: shapes and attributes.
This addition to our Math program will add a layer of review that allows students to practice important skills independently or with a classmate, while having fun!
Because these tiles are self-checking, students will be able to have immediate feedback to check for accuracy. Students are able to practice repeatedly if necessary, and build confidence.
