My Project

New Ventures is a transfer school, predominately serving Black and Brown youth living in NYC, where many of our students have experienced difficult life circumstances, causing them to be overaged and under-credited. Additionally, many students have Individualized Education Plans and need support in navigating ADHD, autism, emotional dysregulation, and other similar conditions within the academic setting. The materials and supplies I am requesting are to inspire and motivate my high school seniors to pursue their dreams after graduation.

As a College and Career Counselor, my office is intended to be a space for students to explore their values, beliefs, and interests, free of judgement and biases.

The rugs and chair will make my office more comfortable and pleasant for students while artwork reflecting groundbreaking leaders such as Martin Luther King Jr, Malcolm X, Mary Angelou, and Rosa Parks will allow my students to reflect on their future and consider becoming advocates themselves for equity and social justice.
