This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

I am an eleventh grade physics teacher at a high need high school in Bronx, NY. I have to cover mechanics with my student and want to measure velocity of various objects such as a baseball and a roller coaster they have to make in class. I would like a Bushnell Velocity Speed Gun from amazon.com. I think by having the students use this technology they will get a better sense for the velocity of an object. By finding this quantity they can complete essential labs outside the classroom. This will benefit 46 students this year and I intend to use it with the 108 upcoming tenth graders. I believe the experience both in and out of the classroom that this equipment will provide my students will be invaluable.
