Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I have the ability to see every student throughout the day. In addition to being the math interventionist I am the photojournalist for our school announcements and story.
Our students are the best part of my day!
They come from many different backgrounds and a variety of cultures, but they are all eager to be successful and make a difference in the world. I enjoy the opportunity to document their growth. I teach in a Title I elementary school in Florida where the majority of students receive free or reduced-price lunch. Their living and family situations are not always ideal but each one is cared for, has a desire to learn, and to makes someone proud.
My Project
This camera and microphone will give me the ability to capture the magic of our students on campus. Our school creates morning announcements each day for students and families with clips from classrooms the previous day, special events and messages. As the media specialist I am responsible for finding these moments and creating each video. We also document activities of classrooms and family engagement events.
Our students and their families deserve these videos to be of the best quality.
With this equipment we will be able to share our story with all.
