This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
Our students come from across our city and our entire school qualifies for free lunch and transportation to and from school based on the fact that the majority of our students live below the poverty level.
Despite the issues facing our students, they come to school every day and persevere.
Most every student attends college post-graduation. Our students need any support available, as our school and district often cannot provide the resources necessary for our students to compete with other high schools in our region.
My Project
Last year was our first year competing as a varsity golf program. The level of play spanned from newcomer to district qualifying golfers. Most of all, everyone had fun and was able to learn a new sport. The kids did a great job and really enjoyed the experience. Next school year will be our second year of competition and we would like to add a golf indoor and outdoor training program. This will help the team train all year around.
This project will give our golf team an opportunity to compete with the other top teams in the area.
We hope that your support will allow our team to continue to grow in size and competitiveness. We are asking to provide the varsity team with golf equipment that will help them analyze their swings and develop better analytics to lower their scores as well as giving them the ability to train all year long. We need bays to use to hit balls under the simulator. We are also asking for 2 putting greens and training equipment from birdie ball.
