OUR VARSITY BASEBALL TEAM NEEDS YOUR HELP! We have begun to revamp our program and our athletes are desperate for equipment. After taking over the varsity program this fall, it was clear that the resources given to us were lacking. Our team is only allocated $250 per month on equipment, which can not allow the team to succeed. Our school is designated a high need school in New York City and with that comes smaller funding for athletics. In addition, we share one field with track and soccer during the spring. Due to this (coupled with the fact that we are in a section of the Bronx that does not allow us to go to the nearest park to practice), our outdoor practice time is extremely limited. We are requesting an outdoor batting cage that will allow us to set up in a corner of the field so that we can practice all spring. This tool will benefit the offensive and fundamental skills of our players. Our athletes deserve this opportunity and we are hoping that you feel the same way. we would welcome any donors to come see our team at Truman High School in the Bronx and to see what dedication these student/athletes have. We thank you in advance.
