Variety of Items for a Fantastic Variety of Kiddos!
My students need new whiteboards and lighting covers to help set the mood and tone for learning. My current whiteboards and clipboards are pretty well-loved (old!) and the lighting in my room could use some warmth!
My students are a vibrant group of eager learners. They have quite a variety of differing skills and ability levels and because of this, we provide differing instruction for all subjects. They each have their own story and this allows them to come together to create a GREAT group of learners.
Although each student learns at his or her own pace and level, they all deserve the best instruction I can provide.
They are a reading, writing, computing, analyzing, listening, learning, goal-setting, and enthusiastic group of learners who I am currently preparing for careers that may not even exist yet.
My Project
I am asking for the multi-purpose white/clipboards to replace the very worn markerboards and clipboards I currently have. They are scratched and many are broken. They also take up a good amount of space to store. The white/clipboards I am requesting serve two purposes in one - they are attractive and they will be used all the time with markers AND pencil/paper! I can't wait to see my kids get excited about those!
Setting the mood and tone in my classroom is SO important.
I am also asking for the lighting covers to help minimize the lighting we currently have. On gloomy days when we can't use natural light from the windows, these would really help set a calm work environment, unlike the artificial classroom lights. The calming pillow will help with the mood too. Everybody gets upset sometimes, and having something as a relaxing distraction will help kiddos to refocus and get back to their goals when obstacles get in the way.
Lastly, I am asking for construction paper and Elmer's glue. We do so many projects in my room and this will help keep us focused on our end-goal without having to beg the art teacher for her minimal supplies. My kids' imaginations can continue to run wild with these items!
