My students need a variety of seating options within the classroom so that they can choose where they are most comfortable to work. The tall tables, lap desks and bean bags will provide an excellent start.
The students in my school come from a high poverty area. When they enter the building each morning with a smile on their face, I know they love coming to school and enjoy the routine it offers.
My students are young, open minded and eager.
They come to my classroom with optimism and a desire to learn.
The students are the reason that I put so much time and effort into gaining access to the materials and supplies that will best support them in their path to becoming life long learners.
My Project
This project combines two of the most important things to motivate my students; choice and flexibility! We all achieve more when we have the opportunity to work in a way that is most comfortable for us.
Various flexible seating options give students the chance to work to the highest potential.
The Flash Furniture 31.5'' Square White Metal Indoor-Outdoor Bar Height Tables and stools, lab top desks and bean bags will offer a great variety of seating and learning choices. These items will also providing a much more inviting look to the classroom as opposed to the industrial looking desks and tables that we currently have. Finally, this type of seating will lend itself to small group work and peer to peer collaboration among my students.
