This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

As we continue to build our reading skills in the classroom I would love to surprise my students on Valentine's Day with a special book. That book is "I Need a Hug" and "Necesito un Abrazo" by Aaron Blabey, which tells a kind story in English and Spanish that my students will enjoy. This year I have 44 kindergarten dual language students who love reading just as much as they love a hug!

My young students will be so excited when they are able to take home their own copy of the book as a Valentine's Day surprise!

Along with the surprise gift, this project also includes valentine's gift bags and stickers for the students to decorate. I know my students will use their creativity and will be excited to celebrate together as a classroom community.
