This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My school is located in a predominantly African American [39%] and Hispanic neighborhood [59%]. My school is a magnet elementary and our aim is to help each and every child to be a successful scholar. The majority of my students are zoned to the school.

My students are third grade, bilingual students.

Each student has a unique personality with the desire to learn and discover new knowledge. I am excited when I see their academic growth and the effort each student gives to their academic progress to become scholars of the world.

My Project

I am requesting funding to purchase small an appreciation gift for my students for Valentine's Day. The items requested are light up rings, Valentine Day cards, treat bags and assorted favor bags.

The writing lesson will focus on being kind to one another and how helping others will make the world a feel kinder.

We are working hard in the classroom despite our surroundings and I would like for my students to receive a small token of appreciation.

Students will write about a time they were shown kindness or they themselves were kind to others. Students will go through the writing process and will share their final published draft with others.
