I have been with Head start for four years. I love seeing my students' faces light up when they learn something new or when they get what I am teaching. I treat my students like they are my own. My students are like sponges; the more I teach them, the more they absorb. They keep me on my toes. They love giving hugs and high fives. We have lots of fun playing, singing and learning. When they leave my classroom, they are ready for the next grade.
When children pour water into measuring cups, they gain a foundation for mathematical thinking.
This sand and water table will help the kids work on sensory skills.
When they drop corks, stones, feathers and marbles into a tub of water, they observe scientifically which objects float and which sink. When they comb sand into patterns, they learn about both math and art.
The benefits of sand play are the development of fine motor skills, eye and hand coordination – watching and doing and coordinating these actions, promote creativity and imagination through role and developing stories and developing a sense of touch.
I feel like the kids would love feeling the sand fall through their fingers.
