We are the Falcon Strong! We are located on an Apache Indian Reservation in the beautiful White Mountains of northeastern Arizona. My students work hard to meet high expectations despite many challenges. Our school lies in a low-income district inside the Indian reservation in Arizona. Many of our students live below the poverty line and come from families who are struggling to make ends meet.
Every student is afforded the belief, guidance and encouragement that creates a sense of hope and optimism, supported by a course of action needed to experience success at life.
There are hopes in their hearts that they will succeed in their endeavors. They inspire, empower and transform into a good citizen. They create an environment and culture where they experience success. Each of them demonstrate passion in all that we do. They respect, support and enhance relationships with each other.

My Project
Writing is the ability to compose text effectively for different purposes. When many of us reflect on our school experiences, we recall writing in English but not in Mathematics. Math classes previously relied on skill building and conceptual understanding of activities. Today, teachers are realizing that writing during a math lesson is more than just a way to documents information; it is way to deepen understanding and a tool for helping a students gain new perspective

Journal writing can be an effective instructional tool in mathematics education and have a positive effect on problem solving because students organize and describe internal thoughts.
Writing is not a separate entity from the mathematics curriculum; it is a part of it. Students communicate their mathematical thinking through writing. Students write explanations about how they solved a problem, solutions to exercises as if they are writing a textbooks, essays about what it means to prove something or reports describing the significant contribution of a well known mathematician. Students write to keep ongoing records about what they're doing and learning
