Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Non-stop is a perfect word to describe a typical day in my classroom. From the early morning to the late evening, I work to provide the best learning environment for my students. My students work non-stop to meet the demands of the curriculum and my expectations. It's a go, go, go environment.
The teachers and students are challenged each day to make a difference and to make every moment of every day count High expectations and rigorous instruction are expected; however it's the teacher's responsibility to create inventive and unique learning experiences.
Students are ready to soak up any information presented to them and it’s the job of the teacher to meet the need of every child. Teachers are trusted to make the right decisions to do what is best for the students. We work together as a community to provide the best education for our children. Our school relies heavily on the community to support us. A majority of the technology in our school has been purchased using donations by community members. With the support of the community, teachers, and parents, students are able to excel and be successful.
My Project
I am requesting Chromebooks in order for the students to have access to type writing assignments, research topics, and go online to complete various tasks. In the real world it is crucial for students to learn how to use a variety types of technology. I want to promote using these devices in order to help solve problems that may arise or answer questions to the unknown. In the past, I've had two computers for the students to use and I was limited to the things I wanted them to do. Having students type a paper was out of the question and my students did not have access to a computer lab either. Completing research assignments is nearly impossible, as well. Increasing the amount of technology in the classroom will allow students to have the freedom to look up the unknown, utilize online resources, and become familiar with tools they will encounter in their future.
Donations to this project will equip my classroom with the proper tools in order to meet the demands of the standards and better prepare them for their future.
Students will be able to have unlimited access to technology and there will no longer be a wait list. Students will be able to create an online writing portfolio, create presentations, and perform research assignments simultaneously. The possibilities are endless when technology to student ratio is increased.
