My Students

I teach Life Skills to a fantastic group of eight special-needs students. My classroom is completely self-contained, meaning they are with me all day and I teach all of their subjects.

They really LOVE to create and learn.

We are always thinking outside the box as learning should be as hands-on as possible.

We are located outside of the Austin, TX area. These are students that live in a group home environment. Most are non-verbal so they would be able to communicate in a whole new exciting way!

My Project

If our project is fully funded, we will be able to use our Chromebook in various places around the campus. We love getting outside at least twice a day enjoying sensory walks, feeling the sunshine on our faces and seeing what nature has to offer. On occasion, we have difficulty getting students back into the classroom. If we have a portable tablet we can use it in various ways to bring communication to the hands of our non-verbal students. This will help give them a voice in a way that they have never had before. Thank you for your time!
