Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My elementary school is a Title I school, with a high minority population. The class I teach is Pre-Kindergarten with Severe Disabilities. My students are 3 and 4 years old. They enjoy singing, dancing, and learning. They spend the entire day with me in the classroom, exploring and learning.

My students love to learn and discover new things.

They are able to use a variety of methods to learn, such as manipulatives and technology. They love school and I enjoy being their teacher. I enjoy each day with them. My students simply ROCK!

My Project

My students have recently acquired new technology and enjoy using it to further their learning. It is interactive and allows them to learn through a method they are familiar with. However, they are having difficulty doing so without headphones. It is difficult to hear videos, songs, etc that are needed to review important concepts. Often, the students must put their ears against the tablet, causing them to miss the visual aspects of the review. The surge protector will help charge the technology efficiently, as well as protect it from power surges.

With your help, my students will be able to become active participants in their learning.
