Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students deserve the same opportunities as students in neighboring schools and districts! They have great potential! Many of my students have personal struggles and tragedies to deal with outside of the classroom. School is a safe place for them, and the majority of students love being here!

We no longer turn the pages of a textbook to learn math. In today's math classroom, teachers work hard to meet the needs of all learners. By having access to technology, we can close the achievement gap by making sure each student has access to resources at his or her own level. This is why I turn to DonorsChoose to advocate on their behalf!
My Project
Most of my students do not have access to computers at home. A walk to a nearby library is not an option. We currently have a limited set of Chromebooks thanks to previous projects! Hooray! We are trying to achieve a 1:1 ratio of students to technology so that all students can participate in an online classroom and graphing STEM activities at the same time!
This STEM project for additional Chromebooks will provide my students with access to the same online resources as students in other schools to help close the achievement gap!
I can better differentiate instruction by assigning different online activities to students based on their ability. Online access helps add enrichment for the higher-level students, intervention for the lower-level students, and allows me to work with a small group for reteaching the current concept.
We use the Google suite of apps to enrich learning through Google Classroom, Google Forms (surveys/questions), and shared project files. We use Google Translate features for all notes, assignments, and online activities for ESL students. We use online graphing tools, such as Desmos, so that students can plot, graph, and interpret functions.
We use the Chromebooks to enrich the learning that is already happening in the classroom!
