Using Technology Subscriptions to Enhance Our Literacy Skills
My students need technology subscriptions: Vocabulary, Raz Kids, Ready Test, Writng, Science A-Z, Headsprout and Mobymax to use on their chrombooks to improve their reading, writing, and math skills.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students are always excited and eager to learn new things. Our classroom consists of a diverse group of students from typical students to those with learning disabilities. Most students don’t have access to technology at home, so a lot of them are only exposed to technology when they’re in school. I have an inquisitive group of students, who are always eager to work with technology.
They attend a Title I school where they all qualify for free breakfast and lunch.
The majority of them come from low socioeconomic backgrounds. My students are faced with several challenges both in and out of the classroom. Despite the many challenges they face, I am looking to provide my students with creative and meaningful learning experiences.
My Project
The Complete Collection has awesome materials that would allow my students to progressively work on their reading and writing skills. Within the resource room, I provide services to various students on several different levels and it is often difficult to find materials that you can use for all of the students. These two subscriptions will do just that. They are leveled reading and writing that would allow my students to start reading and writing where they currently are instead of where they should be so they can progressively work to grade level. The comprehension tests will provide me with feedback and I can access students' progress and target skills they might need extra help with.
Students feel successful when they are working at their instructional level!
Mobymax will allow me to monitor student progress in real time. The curriculum covers all my student's academic and social skills needs.
The MobyMax system will allow my students to receive instruction at their individual pace and also to provide remedial skill building.
