This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

The kindergarteners in my classroom are a very unique bunch. The majority of these students are entering a school setting for the first time but they are creative and eager to learn.

A lot of my students dress themselves each morning.

One of their highlights is to come to school where they know a nutritious breakfast will be waiting. They are a wonderful bunch and does not let their lack of necessities prevent them from smiling, sharing, and caring for each other.

They are excited about their learning experience and most of them do not want to leave at the end of the day.

My Project

All of our students need to learn how to use an electronic device because it is an essential tool in todays society. Our classes only have three computers which limit the amount of time each student can spend on them. We have nooks but they are out dated and very worn. New tablets in the classroom will allow students the opportunity have more time to assess different learning programs that are offered on line. This will help with reinforcement of what is being taught. Students will also have the opportunity to use the device to connect with other students and explore places online as we teach about other countries. First and foremost, it will give all students a chance to learn how to use technology effectively. They can listen to stories, sight words, etc.. The device will play many roles in the program for the students.
