My students come in everyday ready to learn. They are all great kids, unique in their own way. More than three-quarters of students come from low income families, but that doesn’t hinder their spirit. They are eager to try new things and learn everything they can each day.
All students are hard workers and excited to experience new technologies and manipulatives while learning.
From the minute they walk into the class in the morning, they are caring individuals.
Incorporating STEM centers weekly allows students to come up with multiple right answers and re-frame failure as a necessary part of learning. Students work closely together to solve real-world problems and in the process, apply those strategies to other parts of their lives. Hands-on STEM learning is collaborative and project-based and prepares students for the jobs of the future.
Students are able to answer complex questions and develop solutions for challenges and real world problems while applying the rigor of science, technology, engineering and mathematics content.
They easily jump into the activities, work together and share ideas with one another.
