I teach ESE in Pre-K and therefore teach a great variety of students. I teach children with autism, non-verbal children, and children with developmental delays. I have children ranging from almost 3 to 6 years of age. This wide variety of ages makes it hard for my students to all do the same activities.
The needs of our students vary depending on their exceptionalities.
All of our students come with different backgrounds bringing in a cultural difference to also take into account. Blending in our classroom is the most diverse of any other classroom in the school system. Due to the age and cultural differences, and the various disabilities, we have more obstacles to overcome on a daily basis before we begin to work on education. One of the things my students have in common is they love to play outside every day.
My Project
Hello, we are looking to grow our sensory time of the day. I have children that have about a 3 minute window or time that they can focus so we change activities all day every day.
We love to explore especially with light and color and are looking for items to really help our kiddos expand their minds.
The big tap and play color changing light is one of these items. We are also needing some new play dough tools to enhance our play dough time as we love to use play dough and the new rollers will add some texture as the the play dough mats will give us a different perspective on how to use the play dough in new way.
