My Students

We have a good mix of boys and girls from varying household sizes. Some are only children, while others have many brothers and sisters. Some have the responsibility of being the oldest child in their family, while others are lucky to be the baby of the family. We have students from traditional families, blended families, and multi-generational families, where they live with grandparents. Our school consists of students that are about 95% Caucasian, and about 30% of our students receive free or reduced-price lunch. We have teachers at all different stages of their careers (from first-year teachers to ready to retire). We focus on STEM, music, art, and are a Chinese dual-immersion school. On our most recent end of level tests, our school ranked in the top three schools in our district out of about twenty-five elementary schools in both English language arts and math.

My Project

My students learn best through meaningful, hands on learning opportunities. I will use the Osmo system in my class during center time. During this time students will be able to interact with Osmo while learning. The Osmo Learning System will be utilized with our classroom iPads and provide innovative learning experiences geared toward our current learning targets.

The Osmo Learning System will be used to supplement our language arts and mathematics curriculum.

The kits will create cooperative learning experiences which will help promote social and functional skills along with building basic academic skills.

The various programs will support early learning academic skills while building critical problem solving skills needed in order to become successful learners. The Osmo Learning System will provide motivating and meaningful opportunities for students to learn. Genius kits are designed to make learning fun and exciting by working collaboratively with an opponent. Osmo Genius kits will allow me to help encourage learning amongst peers. They are great tools to use within the classroom, as students will be eager to learn through tactical experiences.
