My students live in a small rural farm community and don't always see the value of mathematics in their future. With a little encouragement and success, they get a taste of the potential that they all have.
My students need to see that they can do the hard stuff.
They need to see that they are capable of future success in mathematics. I love to see them realize they can do it when they thought they couldn't.
Thank you in advance!
I have been using games in my classroom to engage students and encourage perseverance in math. For the last month, I have engaged my students with games during homework time in order to encourage a little extra effort. I need variety to keep this working for an entire school year.
I have seen amazing success with the limited supply that I have collected.
I have used thrift stores to make a small shelf of game supplies. More variety will allow me to reach more students.
It is difficult to get a public school to allocate funds for such a project. I need help.
