This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students have multiple disabilities and are in a self-contained classroom setting. All students learn using the extended standards and use technology and communication devices to communicate with teachers and peers.
The students in my classroom benefit from a small group setting with minimal distractions, including noise, people moving around and talking.
The students work through independent work, bucket work using manipulatives, typing and one-on-one with the teacher. The students in my classroom enjoy music, computer and playing outside. The students enjoy working together and working with the adults to further their knowledge in the classroom and community.
My Project
Students in the classroom will be able to use the pen to apply their fine motor skills to answer questions and be assessed. Students will be expected to use the writing utensil to show their skills when completing work on the iPad. Students will be encouraged to use the pen to not only write but also use the pen to tap the correct answer when asked, while correctly holding the pen. Students will become more familiarized with holding writing utensils correctly, becoming more accurate when writing and answering questions. This item will enhance the fine motor skills the students need to correctly write.
