My Students

My fifth grade students attend a wonderful school in WV with over 500 students in grades Pre-K to 6th grade. We are departmentalized in fifth grade, therefore I see all 75 fifth graders every day.

I have the privilege to teach English Language Arts and share my love of reading and books with my students.

Our students are enthusiastic learners who love technology, learning games, cooperative activities and being active learners. Every day is a chance to learn something new!

My Project

Using BrainPop in the classroom to introduce new topics engages students and makes difficult content easy to understand. It is presented to students in an animated way that makes learning interesting and fun for students.

BrainPOP provides hundreds of animated skits, quizzes, high interest readings and activities that span all subjects.

BrainPOP is an educational tool that can be displayed on computers and our interactive white board. The animated videos cover many topics students learn in school; from the Underground Railroad, to writing an essay, learning parts of speech, to photosynthesis.

BrainPOP helps me deliver engaging lessons that my students can understand and enjoy.
