Help me give my students opportunities to learn through art. Students need paint, paint brushes, popsicle sticks, glue and scissors so they can complete art projects throughout the school year.
I work with thirty eager and diverse learners everyday. My students are a diverse group of students that come from a variety of different cultures.
Over half of my students are English Language Learners and all of my students receive free lunch at school.
Many of my students are refugees, homeless, or come from families of generational poverty. In addition, my students often experience trauma and have little access to educational resources outside of school.
The resources in my classroom often help them to learn valuable life skills including learning to read and write in English, express their emotions and meet high stakes state standards.
My Project
Many of the students in my class do not have access to basic materials like pencils and paper at home. The art that students create at school gives them opportunities for them to use a variety of resources and supplies. When students are excited about what they are learning, students are more focused and engaged in their learning. Art can be integrated into reading, writing, science and math throughout the day, we just need the supplies in order to accomplish these projects!
The paints, paper, glue, scissors and craft supplies that we receive through this project will help students to use their creativity to make a variety of projects.
These art lessons will include seasonal projects, multicultural art, small crafts and birthday cards for their classmates and family.
