I teach third grade in a rural, high-need community with students that love learning! Learning the location of each our states in the United States is proving to be a challenge!

The students in my classroom are struggling to learn the names and locations of all the states in the United States. They also spend a lot of time in our classroom library reading independently and listening to lessons I often teach there. As a third grade teacher, I feel it is still important to gather the students together in our class library instead of being restricted in desks all day. The floor in our class can get very chilly during winter months, which makes it a little bit more uncomfortable to sit on!

I always try to reach all of the learning styles in my classroom, so seeing a giant map of the US on a carpet everyday would greatly help them. They would also feel more comfortable sitting on a carpet during winter months than on a cold floor.

Your help will ensure that my students have a comfortable learning environment in our classroom library. You will also help build pride in the students with their knowledge of the names and locations of the states in the USA!
