My Students

Let us play! Our students are playing on a virtually empty recess field. Our equipment is over 30 years old, and very little has been added since our school was established.

Our students are enrolled in a Title I school in rural northern Florida.

Fully 63% of our students are living at or below the poverty level. It is a struggle, but we manage to fund their academic needs. However, we can provide them very little to ensure an enjoyable recess. With little at home to play with, our children are often deprived of even the basic sports equipment and games. My students need a Recess Pack of playground equipment to provide them some exercise, stimulation, and fun!

My Project

Our students are lacking in almost every area of their lives. Their families seldom have the money to enroll them in organized sports activities. With so many of these students living in poverty, they rarely have sports equipment or games at home. Our school is struggling to meet their academic needs. As such, we have little to spend on games and sports equipment. We would like to provide these deserving students with equipment and supplies to build up their bodies (and self-esteem) in addition to increasing their academic strengths.

We really need to "level the playing field." Our students deserve the chance to be kids - to do all the things that their counterparts do.

A few balls, a couple of games, and some sports equipment will go a long way towards making these children feel "normal". Every child deserves a chance to play and truly enjoy being a kid!
