This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

There are so many things that make my kindergarten students special. What makes them stand out is that they work really hard, and they are always happy to be at school. We have been working remotely since March 16th. We had no advance notice, and many families are struggling to support their child academically from home.

For many of my students, school was a safe place that provided them with two meals a day, love, and a much-needed routine.

In this unprecedented time, we have taken that structure away from them. Please support my students and their families.

My Project

My students and their families are making every effort to work from home. They needed printers to make copies for daily assignments. Please consider helping them out.

All of my students qualify for the free or reduced-price lunch program.

They pick up healthy breakfasts and lunches every morning, but they need supplies so they do not fall behind academically.

This was a critical time of year, where students were emerging as readers and writers, and developing their mathematical sense. So much has been taken from them, and we don’t want them to fall behind.
