My Students

I teach fourth grade. Our students are extremely diverse in so many ways from their economic means to their level of home support. What I love most about the kids at my elementary school is their eagerness to learn and their open acceptance of other students' differences. After attending a conference last summer, I have been highly focused on involving the students in reviewing their learning targets, monitoring their own growth, reflecting and setting personal goals. I have been blown away by how much sense of ownership the kids take on and how invested they have become in their learning!

My Project

Students need access to technology at several points throughout every day to meet various needs - research, intervention, small group time, differentiation. The list goes on! We not only use several programs for reading, writing and math remediation, but we also use our technology for in-class research and reporting. In a world that's become to technology-oriented, it is so important for all children to have computer access and experience. Furthermore, the kids WANT to learn through research. We need the means to make that happen for them. I have been trying to build up my classroom technology bank and this new laptop will make a big difference.
