My students need G. Skill Trident Ram to update their current class room computer systems. The M.2 drive will be used to upgrade one of the computers into a "work" machine.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
The lack of technology accessible by our students hinders their chances at pursuing STEM careers, which are arguable the most promising careers available.
The students are put a step behind by not being exposed or having access to the technologies of the future.
Many of them have no idea how successful they can be if they pursue a career in Computer Science/Engineering.
Nearly all of my students come from low income families.
They are limited by the social and economic inequalities present in the environment they were born in. However, this doesn't seem to affect their desires to learn. The students express great curiosity in all things technology, and they only need the spark of exposure to ignite their curiosity into career ambitions.
Our school becomes the beacon of hope for these children as it funnels the resources and support they yearn and need. Since these children cannot have many modern technologies in their house to assist their creativity, the school becomes exponentially more vital to their future success.
My Project
The materials I've requested will be used to upgrade the current computer systems the students have access too. They will also be able to build a completely new computer using the rest of the parts.
By upgrading the RAM on the current systems, the students will be able to use computers that run their programs much faster and efficiently, and by building a new computer they will be introduced to new STEM career paths.
By introducing students to the concept of upgrading/building rather than replacing, they will also learn fiscal responsibility. In addition to the practicality of the exercise, the students will also get hands on experience in upgrading the old systems as well as participating in a STEM related activity of building a new computer, and experiencing the payoff first hand.
