Do you know how hard it is to keep food fresh and looking nice when you have a refrigerator with limited space and an abundance of student work (cooking) trying to stay cool?
My classroom is full of students throughout the day who don't have many opportunities to learn the art of cooking AND the safety and sanitation involved with a healthy eating lifestyle.
A new refrigerator will enable me to further educate them about proper cleaning and storage of food with regards to the refrigerator.
My Project
This refrigerator has the total space of 28.6 cu ft., as opposed to our refrigerator now which is about 17 cu ft. My students will be able to keep and organize their cooking so that everything is not squished, spilled, or damaged in any way that might effect the final outcome. Having adequate space will also help to eliminate the potential of cross-contamination!
This project is important because our current refrigerator is approximately 30 years old!
The handle is falling off, shelving is loose or broken, and overall it just looks bad! My students deserve better! They work hard to learn and give 100% of themselves when it comes to preparing food!
