We are a cute, community preschool housed in a beautiful elementary school next to the mountains in northern Utah.
We serve students with and without disabilities (about half/half each session) ages 3-5.
We serve 46 (and growing) kiddos across 4 different sessions.
Some of our students also don't have the resources or materials to learn these concepts at home. But they love learning and we feel so blessed and grateful to provide our community's children a place to grow and experience understanding of fundamental concepts. We send homework with our students as well and they are eager for the chance to grow and apply their new skills and concepts at home.
My Project
This project is to help update our dramatic play center and puzzles in our fine motor center.
Our students love their dramatic play center, but it's under-furnished.
They love to sit and play together with baby dolls, but right now they are sitting on the ground. We would like to get funding for a child sofa in our dramatic play. Funding this project will help facilitate improved play skills and understanding for our students with disabilities to work on cooperative and symbolic play by having more realistic furnishings in our dramatic play center.
We would also like to update our puzzles. The ones we have right now are not socially and culturally appropriate for our population. Having motivating puzzles will help our students with disabilities who need fine motor support gain more motivation to continue practicing and working towards their IEP goals.
