Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I have the pleasure of teaching 26 of the most inspiring, loving, and creative young men and women on the planet. I would describe my students as hard workers who yearn to better themselves and those around them. I work with a largely Hispanic population in a Title I school in Oklahoma. In my classroom, there are students with special needs, students who are English language learners, and students with various learning styles. My school is full of teachers who always put the students first. We are always looking for the best ways to help our students grow and succeed both inside and outside the classroom.
My students greet me each morning with a smile and an attitude that says, "I'm ready to learn today!" Despite their unfortunate circumstances, they are happy to be at school and always excited to fill their brains with new information.
I am truly lucky to be their teacher and I believe that I learn just as much from them as they do from me!
My Project
For this DonorsChoose project, my students and I are asking for your help in updating some of our technology in our classroom. Because we use technology every single day, our current Chromebooks and Desktop computers are outdated and worn down.
My students are creative, fun-loving, and extremely intelligent, and they deserve the best technological resources possible!
We will use this technology during all subject areas throughout the day. The students will be guiding their own learning through the use of this new technology.
The amazing students in my classroom will use these Chromebooks to conduct research, strengthen their reading skills, practice their facts, and create and complete projects based on their personal passions.
