Help me give my students the ability to learn how to organize their assignments with new binders, a hole punch, dividers, and sticky notes. My mechanics students need new safety glasses & a respirator for the shop.
My agriculture education students are hands-on type learners that come from a background of poverty and low-income households. My students are willing to learn new things every day, and they come in with a great attitude toward learning. All of them are very interested in the fields of landscape design, agriculture mechanics, agriscience, and animal science. Most of my students are on free/reduced lunch and cannot afford to purchase basic school supplies themselves.
Being a small city school district, most of my students lack the hands-on experience or skill that would help them in the field of agriculture, but I provide them with these experiences in class.
My students do not know how to organize their assignments when they get to me, and I know how crucial this skill is to post-high school life and education. The binders will allow my kids to have a place to store their notes here at school, and I will re-use this set for a least 2 years. The hole punch and sticky notes will serve as extra organizational tools for my students and myself.
We will be using the safety glasses every single day in my Ag Mechanics class, and the focus we have on safety in the shop will hopefully stick with my students for the rest of their lives.
