Updated iPads for Up to Date First Graders

Help me give my students updated iPads. We have a couple of classroom iPads that are starting to show their age and struggle to run updated programs. Technology only lasts for so long!

My Students

I teach in a low-income school full of hardworking, passionate teachers and students. My students come from diverse backgrounds. Many of my students deal with the daily struggles of life in poverty with some of them in extreme poverty. Many of them have family members dealing with substance abuse, incarceration, and disabilities.

Working with families dealing with such great challenges has opened my eyes to the needs of our city.

I strive to push my students forward so that they will see themselves as learners belonging to our school community and begin to dream big dreams for their futures.

My Project

These two iPads would keep our classroom up to date as a couple of our older iPads are starting to struggle to run apps and programs that require newer software.

Recently we have had two older iPads unable to load programs we use every day for our learning.

Students are excellent at taking turns, but this does cut down on the time they are able to practice. Updating our iPads would help every student have the time they need to work in the programs we use to practice their learning. Technology is certainly not the only way we practice, but it can be a very effective and engaging tool. Help us stay up to date!
