I teach the most incredible six and seven year olds. My students come from very diverse backgrounds. Our school serves mid-town Fort Collins neighborhoods, students from a homeless shelter and safehouse, and English-language learners from many different countries. We are all so different, and yet our class feels like a family. We challenge each other, learn from each other, and love each other every day.
My students are incredibly curious, inquisitive, thoughtful, hard-working, and kind!
They help each other out, learn from each other, inquire, share ideas and hugs, compliment each other and challenge each other, and come to school eager to learn everyday. I am an incredibly lucky teacher to have such a sweet, ambitious group of six and seven year olds!
My Project
If you take a peek into our classroom, you will see students working all around the room, using different surfaces, desks, seating, and tools to help them learn. Our classroom has a variety of different work spaces. It is cozy, inviting, and our learning spaces are used by all students at all times throughout the day.
Our current classroom furniture is "well-loved," and our room is in need of new, clean work spaces and shelving.
My students will use this new furniture to house their technology, books, and supplies. It will enhance the cleanliness of our "home away from home" and give my students a chance to have an organized space to learn in.
