Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students come to school every day with a desire to learn, an element of excitement, and a curiosity of what will happen in class that day. We spend time in class helping everyone feel included and prepared to learn.
I teach at a Title I elementary school in the Bay Area, and over 90% of our students receive free and reduced price meal plans.
Most students do not have access to school supplies and technology is considered an absolute luxury; however, my students are still optimistic about the day! They are eager to give it their all every day and it's my job to help them achieve as much as possible in and out of the classroom. My goal is for them to get what they need from our classroom environment.
My Project
For first graders, it can take some extra practice and routines to maximize their learning time. The tools we need will definitely help manage their learning space even better than ever before. For example, the Surf flexible seating will allow the students to use their iPads or reading books at any place in our classroom. These unique seats are perfect for learning bodies. The students can go to any space in class and use this flexible seating option while still being comfortable and using their iPad or book effectively.
These various products will allow me to meet the needs of all the students in my class helping them to stay focused, remain organized, and to feel successful navigating our room!
The organization carts will allow for quick and easy access to learning materials for all students. Students will be able to get what they need quickly and easily with these organizational resources!
All of these project materials will definitely benefit the first graders in our classroom. They will help to minimize distractions and help students stay focused by providing the necessary accommodations for an accessible classroom.
