Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
We have a diverse set of students that come through our school. We have a student population currently of 260 students from K-8th grade. Our students are individuals whom are always excited about the new technology, books and equipment that we bring to their school. We are located in a part of town that is limited in what is around us so bringing new and exciting tools into our school is always a plus for our students. Introducing our students to new experiences eliminates them limiting themselves. We don't just want our students to hear, read and see from a distance what is in their world around them, we want them to experience it first hand. Our goal as a school is to teach our students that the world around them is within reach and that it is limitless.
My Project
We are excited here at our school to be creating a library for all our students from K-8th grade.
Having a variety of books available and accessible is essential in exposing our students to different genres, titles and authors.
These books will take our students through time, history and adventures that they would not be able to visualize otherwise. Books range from silly, funny, educational to historical. The range will bring so much to life in our students minds. Our goal is to show our students that there is so much that can be learned, appreciated and applied from the written words that they read. Reading several different books can introduce you to so much more than what you see on a daily basis.
