Our school is a 100% magnet school, and is very competitive. The students who come here have worked extremely hard to be accepted. They are some of the best and brightest students in the county, and are the students who will be the leaders of tomorrow.
Students at my school take challenging classes and participate in a variety of extracurricular activities.
This results in well-rounded, yet really busy students. Between classes and activities, students can face a lot of stress and need to unwind.
We live in a digital age, and students are on their devices both in and out of school. They spend hours each day on screens, doing schoolwork and for pleasure.
Teens today need to learn that there is life beyond a device screen.
Puzzles and coloring posters will be set up in the school library so students can unplug from technology and enjoy non-digital time. Puzzles and coloring posters promote collaboration and allow students to talk to each other in real life, not from behind a screen. Taking a digital timeout and connecting with each other can also help students deal with stress.
