This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students come from a variety of socioeconomic, ethnic, religious, and academic backgrounds and come together to learn to be internationally minded. They have large aspirations and it is my goal to help start them out on the best path possible for their future.
My students come to school enthusiastic to learn and very inquisitive, but we lack vital resources.
I have 50 students throughout the day for math and science instruction. They love learning through a variety of ways and I wish to provide them with as many opportunities as possible.
My Project
My students are in need of content specific board games to play during math workstation rotations as well as board games to play during indoor recess. Creating math station games can be time-consuming, and having games on hand will allow me to spend my time more effectively planning other aspects of our day together.
My fourth graders are usually limited to the classroom during indoor recess and are in need of new games to play such as Uno, Yahtzee, and Jenga.
I have selected a variety of games to encourage cooperative play and give my students a variety of choices during their free time. I currently only have four games for all 50 4th graders, and the games I selected will breathe new life into my math block and indoor recess.
