I am a teacher in a low-income area. My students are faced with several challenges both in and out of the classroom. Despite the many challenges they face, I am looking to provide my students with each and every opportunity I can for them to be successful while they are at school.
My students are creative, clever and very eager to learn.
Many of them come from incredibly loving and supportive homes, but do not have the resources necessary to continue their academic growth while at home. This may prevent them from getting ahead early in life and may not provide them with the life experiences many of us see as "typical." From the minute they walk in the door of my classroom, I focus on their potential and growth while they are with me. I may not be able to control the resources they have access to at home, but I can ensure they are provided with the absolute best materials possible to aid their academic growth while at school. By doing this in a creative and positive way, I am hoping to inspire even our earliest learners to continue on a path of academic success.
My Project
With access to Breakout EDU, my students will be given opportunities to apply their learning to engaging and exciting experiences. This platform gets kids up and moving while learning, which is exactly what my students need!
Gone are the days of sitting at a desk and listening to a teacher talk for hours on end.
With Breakout EDU, students must work together to use their knowledge of academic content to solve intricate puzzles. My students will learn to use critical thinking, problem-solving, and teamwork to show off their learning, and our goal is to share this amazing platform with our grade level and then our entire school!
