This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My incredible scholars are motivated dreamers with aspirations of becoming successful medical professionals. They are a diverse group who come from varied life experiences. My scholars are focused, mature, and have chosen to be a part of an intellectually challenging high school pathway.
I want to make certain that I can provide them with real-world skills that will continue their passion for healthcare and prepare them for life beyond our classroom walls.
While my scholars face many hardships in their daily lives; school is one place where they can have access to the resources to explore their passions and develop lifelong skills.
My Project
Breakout EDU is a kit and platform that includes everything you need to challenge students in an escape room situation. These challenges are great for team building, introducing new topics, reviewing information, or a fun way to conclude a unit. Each game is unique and promotes teamwork, critical thinking skills, and resilience.
Using escape room challenges provides high school students a creative outlet, opens their brains in different ways, gets them excited about learning, and allows them to have fun!
Playful learning can in turn lead to deeper engagement with school, better retention of learning and a stronger motivation to persist all the way through school.
