My Students

I work with a wonderful group of fifth grade students in a Title I elementary school in close proximity to a military base. My students are a combination of special education and general education students and come from diverse backgrounds and educational experiences but love to discuss and share every chance they get. They are eager to learn new things and share their thinking as they work together in math, reading, writing, social studies, and art classes. They may be young, but they are out to conquer the world.

My Project

This project will improve the virtual learning experience for my students. I want to be able to encourage team building, teamwork skills, critical thinking, and productive struggle. Many of the activities on the Breakout Edu website are aligned to our standards.

With this subscription, I will be able to engage students in learning that looks and feels like a game.

When students "play to learn", I find that the learning sticks with them longer and they return to the virtual classroom begging for more.
