Help me give my students paint, canvases, necklace pendants, cords, and small jewelry bags to unleash their creativity and develop financial literacy skills.
My third graders are enthusiastic learners! They are inquisitive, bright, caring, compassionate, and wonderful. Our small, rural school is located near the southern coast of Oregon. We work hard to collaborate, create, and communicate throughout our day.
We pride ourselves on lifting each other up, as we strive toward a common goal of developing students who are critical thinkers, innovators, and role models.
We have a long way to go toward achieving this goal; however, with your help, I know we can make it. In our class, we live by the motto, "The good you do, will come back to you!"
My Project
Pop up boutiques are springing up all over, and our third grade class would love the opportunity to combine art and commerce in a unique and enterprising way with our own pop up boutique! This particular group of students are super creative. They are wildly imaginative, and have so many creative and clever ideas. What they are lacking, however, is art supplies and financial literacy skills. The funding of this project, will change all of that!
We are asking for canvases, acrylic paint, pendants with necklaces, and jewelry bags to create a small pop-up boutique at our school.
The children will use these art supplies to create custom jewelry and paintings. All students can earn classroom currency for making positive choices in and out of class, which can be used to buy items projects from one another at our pop up style boutique. Students will take turns working and shopping. This project not only builds financial literacy skills, it bolsters community and improves behavior schoolwide.
With your help, the students will participate in a truly unique learning event that they are sure to never forget!
