Help me give my students two Apple iPads to reinforce lessons, investigate high-interest topics, increase math fluency, and have access to more books and more interventions.
Remember when you were in school and classes had two computers to share between two classrooms? It was always exciting when the cart was rolled into our room. We could not wait to play Oregon Trail when we finished our assignments. Oh the joy! Technology has come a long way since then. We now have Chrome Books and tablets to use as educational tools. Unfortunately, not all schools have funding for additional technology.
Students at our school are incredibly hard-working, creative and curious, and they love to use technology to connect their learning to the world around them.
I just love their perseverance!
Our school is in a rural area south of Denver. Students here live on farms, ranches, and in the nearby neighborhood. Access to technology can be limited and not every child has access to technology at home. At school we share 28 Chrome Books between three classes. Let me tell you, the kids get just as excited about the computers as we did. Access to additional technology will give these amazing kids the opportunity to make connections beyond the classroom and will help continue to foster their love of learning in all subjects.
My Project
My students love to create and investigate. These iPads will give them the opportunity to create and record digital book reviews for their peers, practice math facts using Prodigy or Xtra Math, and read more books than my small classroom can hold.
