Help me give my students a book that will increase their understanding of the Revolutionary War. Understanding history is important to our students because it gives them an idea of how far we have come as a country.

My Students

As a teacher in a low income/ high poverty rate district, my students face many challenges in and out of the classroom. They show up every day looking for new knowledge and ready to learn.

My students are ready to try new things and are looking for new ways to show off their knowledge and growth.

For many of my students, school is the only place they have that is safe for them. It is the only place they are guaranteed food. It is my job to make sure they know I am here to help them grow in every way possible. A student who feels success at school will continue to strive for success.

My Project

These books are part of our reading curriculum. Within this curriculum the students are able to dive deep into the book and really gain an understanding of social studies. This unit covers the American Revolution.

The students will learn the Revolution by following the life of a family.

They will see what people lived through during the Revolution while making connections with the text.

The Revolution is an important part of American History. It helps our students see what our fore fathers thought was important to our country and why we need to protect those rights and beliefs for years to come.
