I serve over 450, 9-12th grade unique learners who are working on individualized goals in reading, writing, math, social skills, and other areas. My students have chosen an online public school for a variety of reasons, including COVID. My students are curious and enthusiastic about progressing. In order for my students to receive the best from me, I need a few tools that will allow me to see and hear better. This will enable me to give them the most effective feedback, which will support their growth and achievement.
COVID has brought about a variety of new factors, including online learning.
We support learning first, by providing personalized curriculum, feedback, and support for individualized instructional pathways. In order to provide this, I need a high-quality microphone so that my students can hear me with nice crisp sound quality. A larger monitor will allow me to focus better on my students, while simultaneously letting me glance at my lesson plan or other education tools I am using to support my students; both during and after COVID.
My Project
These materials will help me see and hear my students better. The monitor will help me focus on one screen and focus on them. Research shows that turning away from the screen can be de-motivating for the students. I am currently working on two monitors - combing all screens into one will ensure the students feel I am focused on them. A microphone will help them hear me better, which is especially important as they learn how to read at a greater ability, including increasing their phonemic awareness. Superior headphones will ensure I don't miss a thing they say.
