I have 17 students between the ages of 5 and 6. They are sweet, eager, and always excited to learn. Each student continuously teaches me something new and allows me to view different approaches to better their instructional learning.
I have a class of students that are so excited about reading!
They are excelling and pushing my reading instruction to a whole new level. I am excited that they are loving to learn to read and that is why I want to integrate a reading center to engage them in their reading and meet their academic needs.
My Project
I will be using the materials to create a space in our classroom for the students to relax and enjoy a book. Reading is a key component to every students successful school career.
By creating this reading center I hope to encourage my students to read more often.
It is important for students to feel safe and welcome. This reading center will be a space for these students to self select a book and enjoy some independent reading.
I plan to have students use this reading center on a daily basis to read books independently. Students will get to enjoy a book in a cozy area designated for them!
